THINKING vs FEELING

T versus F within Meyers Briggs explores the ideas of thinking and feeling. These traits decide how an individual makes decisions.

Those who are Thinking types make decisions based upon rationally gathered facts and analyze information in order to solve problems, whereas those who define themselves as Feeling types tend to make decisions based on their personal values and ideals. They view themselves as having a strong moral compass and relationships are more important than finding the facts.

THINKING

  • Highly motivated by achievement
  • Appreciate work that requires order and analysis
  • Place rules and logic over relationships & feelings
  • Tend to be blunt and all business

FEELING

  • Tend to be amiable and empathetic
  • Prefer to work with people as opposed to cold hard facts
  • Are personable and tactful
  • Can feel unappreciated in settings with little positive reinforcement
